. . .

In the Old Testament (Exodus 29:4-7) God commanded Jewish leaders to be washed with water, and then they were to be anointed with oil.
Oil represents the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ is Prophet, Priest, and King!

Baptism is symbolism of being washed by water, and this is why a new Christian is baptized.
Baptism is symbolism of being washed by water, and this is why Christians submerge their entire body when being baptized.

Water baptism is symbolism showing that we have been washed in Jesus Christ’s blood.
Jesus Christ’s blood washes away sin.

When a person puts their trust in Jesus Christ, and they believe Jesus Christ’s blood washes away their sins, Jesus washes them with His blood, and then Jesus anoints them and baptizes them with His Holy Spirit.

Water baptism also shows we have been buried in Christ and raised in new life, as we are lifted out of the water.
Water baptism also shows that our sins have been washed away and buried, and we are raised as New Creatures, and have been made Born Again.

Water baptism also symbolizes the fact that a new Christian has been baptized SPIRITUALLY by Jesus Christ’s Holy Spirit, meaning Jesus Christ’s Holy Spirit has filled that new Christian SPIRITUALLY.

Also, water baptism symbolizes Jesus Christ being anointed and baptized by HIS Holy Spirit!

Exodus 29:4-7 KJV

5 And thou shalt take the garments, and put upon Aaron the coat, and the robe of the ephod, and the ephod, and the breastplate, and gird him with the curious girdle of the ephod:
6 And thou shalt put the mitre upon his head, and put the holy crown upon the mitre.
7 Then shalt thou take the anointing oil, and pour it upon his head, and anoint him.
